The most beautiful beaches in the Castellammare del Golfo area.
Castellammare del Golfo is an exceptionally picturesque town. A wonderful port, atmospheric narrow streets, restaurants and bars full of local delicacies - each of our guests swears on the day of departure that they will definitely come back here. This is hardly surprising! The views, the people, the surroundings – everything is wonderful here. However, it cannot be denied that what attracts people most to Castellammare del Golfo are its beaches.
The waters at the shore near the town are perfectly turquoise. And thanks to their transparency and underwater rocks, they are perfect for diving and snorkeling. The youngest beachgoers appreciate the opportunity to watch fish and other animals living in the water. Wonderfully situated beaches also make scenic cruises along the coast a very popular form of entertainment during your stay in the town.
There are many beaches around Castellammare del Golfo, so today we will present you a list of our favorites.
Cala Petrolo
Cala Petrolo beach is located very close to the town center - from our apartments you can walk there in just 10 minutes. However, if you decide to go there by car, don't worry - you will find parking spaces nearby.
The beach is rocky and sandy, and its most characteristic point is the stone wall towering over the azure waters. Thanks to this, you can count on pleasant shade on the beach in the afternoons. To get to the beach, you have to go down the stone stairs and you can enjoy a pleasant rest!
Cala Petrolo is not large, but you will find everything you need there - at the swimming pool you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas and buy snacks, there are also many restaurants and bars nearby. The beach attracts primarily sea bathing enthusiasts because the waters here are relatively deep. Cala Petrolo is also famous for its breathtaking views - the town at the top and the nearby port look amazing both during the day and in the evenings!
La Playa Beach (Spiaggia Plaja)
This is the largest beach in Castellammare del Golfo. And importantly, it is located only 1.5 kilometers from the town center. Many of our guests decide to take a leisurely walk during which they can enjoy the landscapes of Castellammare del Golfo. However, if you do not want to waste time and want to catch as many seaside rays as possible, you can also get to the beach by bus, and during the holiday season there is a special train that runs through the city and stops at the beach.
Spiaggia Plaja is wonderfully equipped. The sand is golden and soft, and the view of the distant mountains definitely promotes relaxation. There are numerous bars with outdoor tables and restaurants near the beach.
However, it is worth remembering that some of Spiaggia Plaja is available for a fee.
Guidaloca beach
Guidaloca beach is located in Castellamare del Golfo, it will take you about 6 minutes by car from our apartments. You will find parking lots right next to the beach. There is also a bus there.
White stones and clear, turquoise water impress literally everyone! Additionally, the beach is located in a charming bay, so the sea there is exceptionally calm. Therefore, Guidaloca is popular among snorkeling enthusiasts and families with children - although we recommend taking water shoes for the youngest beachgoers. The beach is relatively long, and the picturesque views encourage romantic walks along the shore - you must stay here for the sunset! In our opinion, it is one of the most beautiful beaches in this part of the coast.
On the beach, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas and use the beach bar. You will also find restaurants and hotel pubs nearby.
Scopello
Skopello is a beach in the village of the same name at the southern end of the Zingaro Reserve. About 2 kilometers from Castellammare del Golfo. You can get there by car (there is a private, guarded parking lot in front of the beach) or by public transport.
Scopello is located among cliffs, so as you probably guessed, the views are amazing. This beach is especially popular with diving enthusiasts - the bottom here is really rich in both fauna and flora. Moreover, the waters near Scopello are shallow and calm, which makes admiring the underwater world much more pleasant.
Please remember, however, that entry to the beach is subject to a fee. To get to your dream paradise with turquoise water, you first have to pass through the garden, which is so picturesque that you will certainly stay there for a long time.
Alcamo Marina Beach
Alcamo Marina beach is located in the town of the same name, about 6 kilometers from Castellammare del Golfo. The beach is beautifully located, close to the city, and at the same time offers a view of the picturesque mountains (the center of Alcamo is located at the foot of the limestone mountain known as Monte Bonifato). Importantly, the beach is publicly accessible (with minor exceptions), free of charge, sandy and up to 7 kilometers long.
Turquoise water, golden sand and wonderful surroundings make the beach sometimes crowded. The descent into the water is pleasant, which is why this part of the island is often chosen by families with children (in addition, there is a lifeguard on the beach during the season). In the area you can also enjoy many entertainments and water sports, such as catamarans, water skiing, kayaking and sup-surfing.
Beach in San Vito lo Capo
The beach in San Vito lo Capo is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island (and even in the whole of Europe!) and believe us - the guides don't lie! From Castellammare del Golfo you can get there in less than an hour and we are sure that you will go there again the next day. There are plenty of parking spaces near the beach and you will certainly have enough time to stroll around this equally charming town.
The beach in San Vito lo Capo will enchant you with its almost white sand and transparent, turquoise water. The surroundings look like from the most beautiful postcard - the beach is located on a promontory jutting out into the Tyrrhenian Sea, in a picturesque bay, among majestic mountains, and is additionally decorated with numerous plantings of tall palm trees. The waters are shallow and the gently shelving beach makes the water very warm, making it an ideal beach for families with children. Of course, adults won't be bored either - you can practice various water sports on the beach, such as diving or windsurfing.
The beach is wide and the paid sections do not cover a large area. You will also find all amenities on site, such as public showers, sunbeds and umbrellas rentals, and bars. We recommend taking a walk along the entire coastline - from the port to the rocks behind the town!
