Do you always have to fly to Spain? Of course not!

More and more of you are asking us for directions on how to get from the Netherlands/Belgium to the sunny Costa Blanca by car, and we're thrilled because we, too, often choose this method of transportation! So we've prepared a mini-guide to help you organize your trip.

What should you expect when traveling by car to Spain? Above all, beautiful views! You'll be driving through the Netherlands and/or Belgium, France, and Spain. Of course, the landscape will vary slightly depending on the exact route you take, but the Pyrenees are always breathtaking!

Now let's get down to specifics!

Applications -> Before your trip, it is worth downloading a few useful applications:

• Waze – shows radars, gas stations and informs about highway prices,

• Pace Drive: Find & Pay for gas – allows you to search for gas stations and pay for fuel,

Thanks to this, you will be able to plan and control your travel costs.

Route and stops -> We personally recommend the route via Lyon – we've tested several options and this one is definitely the best. The journey from the Netherlands will take around 20 hours, and from Belgium around 18. Of course, you can make a stop along the way – it all depends on how many drivers you have on board.

If you're looking to stop off, we recommend Perpignan in France. It's located very close to the highway and offers a wealth of hotels – prices for a night start at €32 for two people. Perpignan is about 13 hours from the Netherlands and 11 from Belgium. This means that on the second day, you'll only have a 7-8-hour drive along a particularly scenic route, and… voila! You can enjoy all the delights of the sunny Costa Blanca!
