The most beautiful beaches in the Castellammare del Golfo area.

Castellammare del Golfo is an exceptionally picturesque town. With its magnificent port, atmospheric narrow streets, restaurants and bars brimming with local delicacies, every one of our guests swears they'll definitely return the day they leave. It's no wonder! The views, the people, the surroundings—everything is wonderful. However, it's undeniable that the main draw to Castellammare del Golfo is its beaches.

The waters off the coast near the town are a perfect turquoise. Their clarity and underwater rock formations make them ideal for diving and snorkeling. Younger beachgoers, on the other hand, appreciate the opportunity to observe fish and other marine life. The beautifully situated beaches also make scenic cruises along the coast a very popular activity during a stay in town.

There are many beaches in the Castellammare del Golfo area, so today we will present you a list of our favorites.

Cala Petrolo

Cala Petrolo beach is located very close to the town center – you can walk there from our apartments in just 10 minutes. However, if you decide to drive, don't worry – you'll find parking nearby.

The beach is a mixture of pebbles and sand, and its most distinctive feature is the stone wall towering over the azure waters. This provides pleasant shade in the afternoons. To reach the beach, simply descend the stone steps and enjoy a relaxing break!

Cala Petrolo isn't large, but you'll find everything you need there – you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas at the beach and buy snacks, and there are also many restaurants and bars nearby. The beach attracts mainly sea lovers, as the waters here are relatively deep. Cala Petrolo is also famous for its breathtaking views – the town perched on a hill and the nearby port are stunning both during the day and at night!

La Playa Beach (Spiaggia Plaja)

This is the largest beach in Castellammare del Golfo. Importantly, it's located just 1.5 kilometers from the town center. Many of our guests choose to take a leisurely stroll, enjoying the scenery of Castellammare del Golfo. However, if you don't want to waste time and want to soak up as much sun as possible, you can also reach the beach by bus, and during the summer season, a special train runs through the town and stops at the beach.

Spiaggia Plaja is beautifully equipped. The sand is golden and soft, and the view of the distant mountains is perfect for relaxation. Near the beach, there are numerous bars with outdoor seating and restaurants.

It is worth remembering, however, that part of Spiaggia Plaja is available for a fee.

Guidaloca beach

Guidaloca Beach is located in Castellamare del Golfo, and is approximately a 6-minute drive from our apartments. Parking is available right on the beach, and a bus service also runs there.

The white stones and clear, turquoise waters impress everyone! Furthermore, the beach is located in a charming cove, so the sea is exceptionally calm. This makes Guidaloca a favorite among snorkelers and families with children – although we recommend bringing water shoes for the youngest. The beach is relatively long, and the picturesque views invite romantic walks along the shore – you must stay for sunset! In our opinion, it's one of the most beautiful beaches on this part of the coast.

On the beach, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, and there's a beach bar. Restaurants and hotel pubs are also nearby.

Scopello

Skopello is a beach in the village of the same name at the southern end of the Zingaro Nature Reserve. It's approximately 2 kilometers from Castellammare del Golfo. You can reach the site by car (there's a private, guarded parking lot before the beach entrance) or by public transportation.

Scopello is nestled among cliffs, so as you can probably imagine, the views are spectacular. This beach is particularly popular with scuba divers – the seabed here is truly rich in both flora and fauna. Furthermore, the waters near Scopello are shallow and calm, making admiring the underwater world even more enjoyable.

Please note, however, that entry to the beach is subject to a fee. To reach this dream paradise with turquoise waters, you must first pass through the garden, which is so picturesque that you're sure to linger there for a while.

Alcamo Marina Beach

Alcamo Marina Beach is located in the town of the same name, about 6 kilometers from Castellammare del Golfo. The beach is beautifully situated, close to the town, yet offers views of the picturesque mountains (the center of Alcamo lies at the foot of the limestone mountain known as Monte Bonifato). Importantly, the beach is publicly accessible (with a few exceptions), free of charge, sandy, and 7 kilometers long.

The turquoise water, golden sand, and beautiful surroundings mean the beach can be crowded at times. The access to the water is easy, making this part of the island a popular choice for families with children (plus, there's a lifeguard on duty during peak season). The area also offers a variety of entertainment and water sports, including catamarans, water skiing, kayaking, and sup-surfing.

The beach in San Vito lo Capo

The beach at San Vito lo Capo is considered one of the most beautiful on the island (and even in all of Europe!), and believe us – the guidebooks don't lie! You can drive there from Castellammare del Golfo in less than an hour, and we're sure you'll be back the next day. There's plenty of parking near the beach, and you'll certainly have enough time to wander around this equally charming town.

The beach in San Vito lo Capo will enchant you with its almost white sand and clear, turquoise water. The setting is picture-perfect – the beach is situated on a promontory jutting into the Tyrrhenian Sea, in a picturesque bay, surrounded by majestic mountains, and is adorned with numerous tall palm trees. The shallow waters, and the gentle slope into the sea, make it very warm, make it an ideal beach for families with children. Of course, adults will have plenty of fun too – you can enjoy a variety of water sports on the beach, such as diving and windsurfing.

The beach is wide, and the toll sections don't take up much space. You'll also find all the amenities you need, such as public showers, sunbed and umbrella rentals, and bars. We recommend strolling the entire coastline—from the port to the cliffs behind the town!
